About Us

DR Designs was established in 2007 to provide engineering services to heavy industry, mainly in the steelmaking sector. Our principal, Dan Roorda, has 20 years experience in steel mill project management and maintenance.

Specific experience includes: Hot metal crane purchase and installation, crane runway upgrades, cold bar shear replacement, reheat furnace rebuild, electric arc furnace major maintenance, maintenance management, drawing management, CMMS implementation, 3D solid modelling, and database development.

Working with a low overhead cost structure, we can offer quick-turnaround, flexible service for your small scale industrial needs.
